The Client

Lindisfarne was a wonderful second home project for a professional London based family. With a love of contemporary artwork, bright colours and elegant taste.

Design requirements

When the need to purchase a second home away from London arose, I was contacted by the clients at this early stage to be involved with the whole project. Once a new build house with 4 double bedrooms was found in the right location. the project was handed over to Lambert Interiors. At this stage we were able to liaise with the building company about many of the finishing details including the wardrobes and we were able to ensure that all of the finishing details for the house were right for the client and the desired look of the house.

The brief from the client was a hotel feel, luxury, contemporary house to be used a couple of days a week when working away from London. The schemes for the house were developed over monthly design meetings which enabled Lambert Interiors to run with the project as the brief required.

Design details

Lots of design detailing and layers needed to be brought into the house, because as a new build the house was effectively a blank canvas. We did this with abstract textured wallpaper, elegant plush fabrics and a wide range of materials including faux leather, textured wood and silk.

Another of the considerations for the client was areas to sit and work should this be a work from home day or an hour in the evening. We installed velvet bar stools to the island for comfortable working and included a lovely seating area next to the French doors for working looking out at the garden.

The clients also asked us to fully equip the kitchen for them; therefore having one less thing for them to think about. We were more than happy to provide all the necessary items for their kitchen as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer for the utility room.

The clients are keen art collectors, and we were tasked with adding to their existing art collection. We used work from the same artist in the open plan kitchen and dining room to compliment each other, and paintings and prints in the other rooms to really bring the house to life and add personality to the spaces.

As the client was looking for an elegant hotel feel we made sure that the double and king size beds were the focal point of the bedrooms. Beautifully made up with feather duvets and pillows, thick bedspreads and plumped cushions.

Lindisfarne was a fantastic project to work on and as we were able to run with it from initial viewings right the way through to final styling before handover the whole scheme works really cohesively together.
